PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix consisting of low molecular weight components for use as a self-eliminating coating for implantable medical devices, wherein the matrix coatings enhance biocompatibility and control the local delivery of biologically active agents.SOLUTION: This invention relates to an implantable medical device, comprising an oligomer having a structure expressed by formula (I), wherein a matrix coating consists of components having a molecular weight of less than 20 kDa.
