PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator in which a predetermined gas can easily be generated.SOLUTION: A disclosed gas generator 100 comprises a tank 110 in which an aqueous liquid 10 is to be placed, a separator 130 placed within the tank 110, and a first electrode 121 and a second electrode 122 placed within the tank 110. At the top of the tank 110, there are formed a first gas discharge port 110a and a second gas discharge port 110b. The tank 110 is partitioned, by a partition 132 including the separator 130, into a first region 111 in which the first electrode 121 is present, and a second region 112 in which the second electrode 122 is present. The first region 111 is in communication with the first gas discharge port 110a.
