Provided is a method for generating a magnetic resonance image which comprises the steps of: obtaining image data on an object according to a protocol； detecting breathing of the object； and when a breathing period of the object is changed, resetting the protocol according to the changed breathing period. By changing the protocol reflecting the breathing of the object, a decrease in quality of the magnetic resonance image can be prevented, and a photographing time of the magnetic resonance image can be minimized.프로토콜에 따라 대상체에 대한 영상 데이터를 획득하는 단계와 대상체의 호흡을 검출하는 단계와 대상체의 호흡 주기가 변경되면, 변경된 호흡 주기에 따라 프로토콜을 재설정하는 단계를 포함하는 자기 공명 영상 생성 방법을 제공한다.
