PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter for topical cooling, used for the treatment of spinal diseases, brain injury, esophagus injury, and so on.SOLUTION: Four units including the catheter 5 having no hole connecting to the outside, a reservoir 6 for storing a heat/cooling medium, a pump 8 for sending the heat/cooling medium such as a liquid and gas, and a heat exchanger 7 for cooling the heat/cooling medium are linearly arranged. By circulating a liquid such as distilled water or a gas such as carbon dioxide which becomes the heat/cooling medium circulating through the four units and a pipe-like pipe connecting between them, heat is removed from the spinal cord 3, brain, esophagus or the like through the surface of the catheter 5 remaining inside the spinal cord, epidural cavity, subdural cavity or subarachnoid cavity of the brain or esophageal cavity, and the continued topical cooling is achieved.COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】脊髄疾患の治療、脳損傷や食道損傷の治療などに用いる局所冷却するためのカテーテルを提供する。【解決手段】外部との交通孔を有しないカテーテル5、熱冷却媒体を蓄えるためのリザーバー6、液体、ガスなどの熱冷却媒体を送るためのポンプ8、熱冷却媒体冷却用熱交換器7、を含む4つのユニットが直列関係に配置される。それらの間を結ぶパイプ状の管と4つのユニットの中を、熱冷却媒体となる、蒸留水などの液体あるいは二酸化炭素などのガスが、循環することにより、脊髄または脳の硬膜外腔内、硬膜下腔内またはクモ膜下腔内に、あるいは食道腔内などに留置されたカテーテル5の表面を通して、脊髄3、脳、食道などから熱が奪われ、持続的な局所冷却が実現される。【選択図】図1
