Examples of systems and methods for determining the corneal limbal boundary of an eye iris are provided. The nature of the corneal bulge can be calculated from the eye image. The intersection of the corneal bulge and the eye surface (eg, sclera) can be determined as the corneal limbal boundary. The determined limbal boundary can be used for iris segmentation or biometric applications.
