PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheath for an endoscope capable of attaining both cable protection and sheath diameter reduction.
SOLUTION: The sheath body 3 of a rigid sleeve 1 to be mounted on the insertion part 37 of the endoscope 35 has a double structure composed of an outer sheath 13 and an inner sheath 14 to be put through the outer sheath 13. The endoscope insertion part 37 is put through the inner sheath 14, and a flexible flat cable 20 is put through between the outer sheath 13 and the inner sheath 14. Thus, the diameter of the sheath is reduced since there is no necessity to form a passage for putting through the cable 20 in the sheath body 3.
