PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique related to the constitution of a holding member which improves an S/N ratio of an acquisition signal of an ultrasonic probe while suppressing multiple reflection of the ultrasonic wave generated from a member holding a subject.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition device comprises: a base member 20 which has an opening a holding member 10 which has a sheet member 11 and a net-like member 12 holding a subject a probe 31 which receives an acoustic wave propagating from the subject via the holding member 10 to convert it into an electric signal scan means 32 which scans the probe 31 in an imaging region for receiving the acoustic wave in the holding member 10 processing means 50 which acquires characteristic information of the subject on the basis of the electric signal and acoustic matching means 40 which is disposed at least between the probe 31 and the holding member 10.
