PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques for reducing artifacts caused by multiple reflection of interfacial photoacoustic waves in PAT.SOLUTION: There is used a subject information acquisition device which comprises: a light source radiation means which radiates light from the light source to a subject holding means which includes a holding member which comes into contact with the subject, and which, by adding pressure on the subject, fixes and holds the subject pressure control means which controls the pressure added by the holding means on the subject signal reception means which, through the holding means, receives acoustic waves which are generated from the subject in such a way that the radiation means radiates the light to the subject through the holding means, and converts the acoustic waves to received signals and signal processing means which obtains characteristic information of the inside of the subject by using the received signals, in which the thickness of the holding member included in the holding means is smaller than the wavelength of the acoustic wave having a central frequency of a reception band of the signal reception means.COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT【課題】PATにおいて、界面光音響波の多重反射によるアーティファクトを低減するための技術を提供する。【解決手段】光源と、光源からの光を被検体に照射する照射手段と、被検体に接する保持部材を含み、被検体に圧力を加えることで、被検体を固定して保持する保持手段と、保持手段が被検体に加える圧力を制御する圧力制御手段と、照射手段が保持手段を介して被検体に光を照射することによって被検体から発生する音響波を、保持手段を介して受信して受信信号に変換する信号受信手段と、受信信号を用いて被検体内の特性情報を取得する信号処理手段を有し、保持手段に含まれる保持部材の厚さは、信号受信手段の受信帯域の中心周波数の音響波の波長よりも短い被検体情報取得装置を用いる。【選択図】図1B
