Disclosed herein are thiazolidinedione compounds of formula I wherein R1 is substituted phenyl, wherein such substituents are as defined within the specification, particular preferred are(5Z)-5-({ 2-[(3R)-3-aminopiperidin-1-yl]biphenyl-3-yl} methylidene)-1,3-thiazolidine-2,4-dione and (5Z)-5-( { 2-[(3R)-3-aminopiperidin-1-yl]-3-(1-methylethoxy)phenyl} methylidene)-1,3-thiazolidine-2,4-dione； processes for their preparation, compositions comprising said compounds and uses thereof. Said compounds are useful as inhibitors or modulators of PIM-1 and/or PIM-2 and/or PIM-3 protein kinase activity or enzyme function and are therefore useful in the prevention or treatment of PIM kinase related conditions and diseases such as cancer.
