FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for treating sulphur residues of a refinery process in which said residues are converted to coke in a coke oven. Described is a method for treating petroleum coal in which said petroleum coal is converted to coke in a coke oven in which said petroleum coal is crushed and mixed with calcium carbonate before coking; characterised in that the obtained mixture is compacted before coking, and in that part of the calcium carbonate, together with a portion of the sulphur contained in said petroleum coal, is converted with subsequent coking to calcium sulphide. Also described is petroleum coke formed from petroleum coal and obtained by the described method, and a coke production plant.EFFECT: technical result: a method for processing petroleum coal is disclosed, which solves the problem of expanding economic opportunities for utilising processing residues.15 cl
