The present invention relates to a method for extracting green tea and a green tea extract prepared thereby. More specifically, the green tea extract can be prepared at low cost and high yield using a shaking extraction. The green tea extract of the present invention contains a large amount of catechin compounds and polyphenol compounds. In particular, the phenolic acid compound is contained at a higher content than products prepared by other extraction methods. The green tea extract can be useful in various fields, such as medicine, health food and cosmetics.본 발명은 녹차의 추출방법과 그로부터 제조된 녹차 추출물에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 진탕 추출법을 이용하여 저비용, 고수득률로 녹차 추출물을 제조할 수 있다. 본 발명의 녹차 추출물은 카테킨 화합물과 폴리페놀 화합물들을 다량으로 함유하고 있으며, 특히, 페놀산 화합물을 다른 추출 방법에 비해 고함량으로 함유한다. 상기 녹차 추출물을 의약품, 건강기능식품 및 화장품 등 다양한 분야에 유용하게 활용이 가능하다.
