Provided is a liquid crystal aligning agent which can uniformly express several sorts of characteristics required for a liquid crystal display device. The liquid crystal aligning agent includes at least one kind of polymer which is obtained by reacting tetracarbon acid dihydride and the like with diamine including a compound represented by Formula (d) and which is selected from the group consisting of polyamic acid, polyamic acid ester, and polyimide. (In Formula, R1~R8 is hydrogen atom and the like; R9 and R10 are halogen atoms and the like; Z1 and Z2 are single bonds, -O-, -COO-, -CO-, -NHCO-, or -O-CH2-; Z1 and Z2 are not single bonds at the same time; X1 is a bivalent organic group; m1 and m2 are integers of 0-4; and n is 0 or 1.).
