The apparatus for generating a hydrogen-containing liquid comprises: a hydrogen generating agent 11, which reacts with water to generate hydrogen gas, a capsule 20, in which the hydrogen generating agent 11 is placed and the hydrogen gas generated inside is discharged out of the capsule 20, and a container 30, in which a liquid L, that is an object to which the hydrogen gas generated in the capsule 20 is added, is placed. The ratio (V/W) of the volume (Vml) of the capsule 20 to the weight (Wg) of the hydrogen generating agent 11 is set to be 11.4 or less, preferably set to be 8.2 or less.
