A method and device (30) for inserting an implant (2) of synthetic material or healthy bone or cartilage into a bone or cartilage defect of unknown depth. The device includes an inner shaft (20) within a hollow outer shaft (1). One end of the inner shaft (20) of the device (30) is suitable for inserting into the bone or cartilage defect in order to determine the depth, while the other end of the outer shaft (1) is suitable for holding an implant (2). The implant (2) is cut to fit the defect once its depth has been determined and then inserted into the defect. A cutting device (21) for cutting the implant (2) is disclosed. Also disclosed is an implant capsule loader (50) for inserting an implant (2) into the delivery device (30).La présente invention a trait à un procédé et un dispositif pour linsertion dun implant de matériau synthétique ou dun os ou cartilage sain dans une défectuosité dos ou de cartilage de profondeur inconnue. Le dispositif comporte une tige interne au sein dune tige externe creuse. Une extrémité de la tige interne du dispositif est apte à être insérée dans la défectuosité de los ou du cartilage en vue de déterminer la profondeur, tandis que lautre extrémité de la tige externe est apte au maintien dun implant. Limplant est découpé pour sadapter la défectuosité une fois la profondeur déterminée et est ensuite introduit dans la défectuosité. Linvention a également trait à un dispositif de coupe pour la découpe de limplant. Linvention a trait en outre à un chargeur de capsules dimplant pour lintroduction dun implant dans un dispositif de pose.
