The invention relates to a duct system with a picking means and a cutting means for harvesting prickly pears, characterised by the use of a long duct (no. 1), open at both ends, detachable into two portions A and B. Said duct (no. 1) provides the link between the cactus fruit and the collection baskets. The duct is provided with a cutting and ejection means which is used to cut the prickly pear and push same into the collector. Said cutting and ejection means is made up of an assembly of a pushing and cutting rotary lever (no. 13) and a cutting fork (no. 12) secured to the front of the collector (no. 11). A second cutting means is made up of a pair of shears (no. 4) with a movable pushing lever (no. 5). The duct (no. 1) may be provided with a picking means made up of a system with a telescopic rod (no. 15) provided with a clamp having two jaws (no. 16). The duct, together with either the picking means or the cutting means is operated by an operator (farmer or labourer) using a handle (no. 23) and a control lever (no. 19). By actuating the control lever (no. 19), the operator pulls on a rigid cable sliding in a flexible sheath (no. 10) in order to actuate the picking means or the cutting and ejection means to be used. Once the fruit has been cut or picked, it is deposited into a collector (no. 2) mounted on the end of the duct. Next, under the effect of gravity, the fruit slides along the duct (no. 1). At the end of the travel, at the other end of the duct (no. 1), the fruit passes through a flexible, resilient pipe (no. 24) and then falls directly into the collection means.
