PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide XTEN conjugate compositions and methods of making the same.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an extended recombinant polypeptide (XTEN) composition, a conjugate composition comprising XTEN and XTEN-linked crosslinkers useful for conjugation to pharmacologically active payloads, a method of making highly purified XTEN, a method of making an XTEN-linker and XTEN-payload conjugate, and a method of using the XTEN-crosslinker and XTEN-payload composition. The present invention addresses this need and provides related advantages.
