The present invention relates to a Pennisetum purpureum active substance with anti-cancer activity, wherein its preparation method comprises the following steps: subjecting Pennisetum purpureum to acid, base, solvent processes separately followed by separate steps of breaking cells, filtering, column chromatography in sequence to prepare ZE5 extract, ZE50 extract, and ZE501 extract, respectively finally, assessing the anti-cancer activity of these extracts to obtain a Pennisetum purpureum active substance with anti-cancer activity. The Pennisetum purpureum active substance with anti-cancer activity has a selective cytotoxic effect for cancer cells, particularly effective for lung cancer cells and breast cancer cells, and shows no significant cytotoxicity to normal cells.本發明係關於一種具抗癌活性之狼尾草活性物質,其將狼尾草分別藉由酸、鹼、溶劑進行處理,再依序分別以破細胞處理、過濾、管柱層析等步驟,以分別製備出ZE5萃取液、ZE50萃取液、ZE501萃取液,該等萃取液經抗癌活性評估後,即為具抗癌活性之狼尾草活性物質;該具抗癌活性之狼尾草活性物質對於癌細胞具選擇性毒殺效果,特別係對於肺癌細胞及乳癌細胞有效,且對正常細胞無明顯之細胞毒性。
