PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing apparatus with many uses, capable of being miniaturized and being made to become lightweight, excellent in removing fouls on shellfish and in detergency, and capable of washing not only cultured shellfish in an ear-strung state but also cultured shellfish in net cages in a state suspended in the sea together with the net cages, gill nets or the like, and kelp or the like collected in the sea. SOLUTION: This washing apparatus is equipped with a conveyance body 1, a pressing unit 2 and washing devices 4. The conveyance body 1 and the pressing unit 2 are united to form an endless conveyor-like means and are placed so as to have a space enabling objects 3 to be washed to pass between the body 1 and the unit 2 in a state vertically facing each other. The washing devices 4 are placed outside the body 1 and the unit 2 so as to conduct the jet cleaning of the objects 3 passing between the body 1 and the unit 2 with a (high-pressure) washing solution. The pressing unit 2 can move up and down in proportion to the thickness of the objects 3. The introducing part 5 of the unit 2 is set to curve upward, is coupled with a pressing part 6 capable of traveling around ahead of the part 5 in its conveying direction and the coupling part is made to be turnable. The introductory head part 7 of the unit 2 is located ahead of the head part 8 of the conveyance body 1 in a shifted state of its location in its conveying direction.
