PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swivel device for attachment to or incorporation with a smoke evacuation system of an electrosurgery unit (ESU) pencil, and a method for making the swivel device.SOLUTION: A swivel device 10 includes a fixed member 12 attached to a rotating member 18. The rotating member allows an electrical cord and/or vacuum tube to twist and coil freely during operation of an ESU pencil with or without the smoke evacuation system.
