The present invention is directed to compositions including an amine-containing compound selected from Formula I and Formula IIwherein R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 independently are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl, and C1-C6 hydroxyalkyl or a cosmetically-acceptable salt thereof and a sensation-blocking agent, where the compositions provide an analgesic effect to the skin when applied to an area of skin exhibiting at least one symptom of itch, pain, stinging, burning sensations, or the like.
