PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion composition in which essential oil is emulsified to be suitable for oral ingestion.SOLUTION: An emulsion composition contains essential oil, lecithins made of lecithin or a derivative thereof, and water-soluble thickening polysaccharide. Dispersibility of essential oil in an oil side is increased with strong emulsifying power of lecithins, and thickening polysaccharide on a water phase side becomes a mesh state to quickly surround oil droplet for stabilization, so that oil-in-water type emulsion can be produced without using phase inversion temperature emulsification which requires high temperature is not used.
