currently, treatment for patients with end-stage renal disease (stage v) consists of renal replacement therapy (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis or kidney transplantation); extraordinarily costly which implies a poor quality of life. The invention is a mixture of carboxylic acids: citric acid, succinic acid, fumaric acid and malic acid, and any possible combinations thereof. This product is preferably used orally or intravenously to treat patients with chronic renal failure, hyperammonemia or human conditions with negative nitrogen balance. This product is beneficial for lowering serum urea and serum ammonium values, whereas by transamination of oxalacetate formed via succinate, fumarate and malate, it promotes amino acid biosynthesis in the essentials; Transamination of the alpha keto glutarate formed via citrate generates glutamic acid and related amino acids such as glutamine.
