The present invention provides mouse, chimeric, and humanized antibodies that specifically bind to CD48 and complexes thereof. In one aspect, the disclosure provides a chimeric or humanized antibody that specifically binds to human CD48 protein. The antibody comprises a heavy chain CDR sequence of SEQ ID NOs: 3-5 and a light chain CDR sequence of SEQ ID NOs: 6-8. This antibody exhibits a higher binding affinity for human CD48 protein when compared to a mouse antibody that specifically binds to human CD48 protein, and also comprises a heavy chain CDR sequence of SEQ ID NOs: 3-5 and SEQ ID NO: 6- Eight light chain CDR sequences are also included.
