A container comprises a dehydrated mineral water, or the residual mineral components of dehydrated mineral water, such that upon the addition of a local water supply, a mineral water may be re-created without the need to transport the mineral water to the user. The container can be expandable by the addition of water. Preferably, the container contains a filter to allow the filtration of water that is used to reconstitute the dehydrated water. The filter may sterilise the water used to reconstitute the dehydrated water. The mineral components may be part of the filter and can be discharged from the filter by the addition of water through the filter. A kit is also provided which comprises an expandable container and, separately, mineral components that can be rehydrated to provide a desired mineral water. In a further aspect, a soluble composition comprises the mineral components needed for reconstitution of a mineral water.
