A synergistic herbicidal composition comprising a herbicidally effective amount of (a) a compound of formula (I) or an agriculturally acceptable salt or ester thereof, and (b) a synthetic auxin herbicide. A composition according to claim 1, wherein (a) is a compound of formula (I), a C1-6 alkyl ester of a compound of formula (I) or a benzyl ester of a compound of formula (I). The composition according to any one of paragraphs. 1-2, where (b) represents at least one compound or its agriculturally acceptable salt, carboxylic acid, carboxylate salt or ester selected from the group consisting of: 2,4-D, 2,4-D EHE, 2 , 4-DMA, 2,4-D choline, aminocyclopirachlor, aminopyralide, aminopyralid TIPA, clomeprop-R, clopyralide, clopyralide MEA, dicamba, dicamba DMA, diclorprop-R, fluroxypyr, fluroxypyr MNE, MCPA, MCPE, MCPE ECPE, MCPE ECPE -ethyl ether, mecoprop-R, picloram, picloram Ksol, hinklorac, triclopyr, triclopyr TEA, triclopyr choline, triclopyr BEE, galauksifen-methyl and gala uxifen-methyl (methyl-4-amino-3-chloro-6- (4-chloro-2-fluoro-3-methoxyphenyl) picolinate) or its potassium carboxylate salt. 4. A method for suppressing unwanted vegetation, which comprises contacting the vegetation or its locus with soil or water, or applying to the soil or water to prevent germination or growth of the vegetation, a herbicidally effective amount (a) of a compound of formula (I) or an agriculturally acceptable salt or ester thereof, and (b) a surface auxin synthetic herbicide. 7.
