Disclosed is an antibacterial product using titanium oxide, which can exhibit sufficient antibacterial properties even in a dark place such as in the living body. Also disclosed is a method for producing the antibacterial product. The antibacterial product comprises a base composed of a metal or a ceramic, and a layer which is formed on at least a part of the base and composed of crystalline alkali titanate nanofibers. Since the layer composed of crystalline alkali titanate nanofibers is formed on at least a part of the base composed of a metal or a ceramic, the antibacterial product can have antibacterial properties even in a dark place.
