PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing hyaluronic acid.SOLUTION: There is provided a new method for producing the hyaluronic acid obtained by culturing STIP-2 cell (FERM BP-11274) which is a cell line originating from an iris pigment epithelial cell of an eyeball of bester, as one of the kinds of sturgeons, to allow the STIP-2 cell to produce the hyaluronic acid and a culture supernatant of the STIP-2 cell containing the hyaluronic acid.
