PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out a new plant extract having testosterone 5&alpha-reductase inhibiting action and/or androgen receptor binding inhibiting action and provide a new antiandrogen agent, a hair growing cosmetic, etc., for treatment and prevention suitable for symptoms such as male-pattern baldness, hirsutism, seborrhea, etc., based on increase of androgenic hormone stimulation.
SOLUTION: The testosterone 5&alpha-reductase inhibitor, the androgen receptor binding inhibitor and the antiandrogen agent having testosterone 5&alpha-reductase inhibiting action and/or androgen receptor-binding inhibiting action are each obtained by extracting one or two or more kinds of plants selected from the group consisting of Canarium pimela Koenig, Heteropanax fragrans (Roxb.) Seem. and Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Nees with a water-based solvent such as water or a hydrophilic organic solvent, a mixed solvent of the hydrophilic organic solvent with water. The hair growing cosmetic, prostatic hypertrophy suppressing agent and health auxiliary agent are each obtained by using the testosterone 5&alpha-reductase inhibitor and/or the androgen receptor binding inhibitor.
