PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 5&alpha-reductase inhibitor including extract from a plant belonging to Crossandra infundibuliformis, Acanthaceae, and to provide a hair grower, pimple-curative agent and prostate disease-curative agent.
SOLUTION: The extract from a plant belonging to Crossandra infundibuliformis, Acanthaceae, has excellent 5&alpha-reductase inhibitory activity. Besides, a hair grower and an ointment for curing pimple each containing the extract exhibit excellent hair-growing effect and pimple-preventive and curative effects, respectively, being high in safety and stability as well. Therefore, the extract, i.e., 5&alpha-reductase inhibitor, is effective for preventing or treating male-pattern alopecia, pimple, prostate diseases, etc.
