PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tea leaf extract richly including anthocyanin having high stability and excellent palatability: and to provide a method for producing the tea leaf extract.SOLUTION: A tea leaf extract includes 0.13 wt.% or more of delphinidin or its glycoside and 23.0 wt.% or less of catechin to a dry weight of the leaf extract. A method for producing tea leaf extract extracts tea leaves using water in an amount 10 times or more the dry weight of the tea leaves under the condition of a temperature at 70-95°C and a period of time of 5-60 min.
