PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial agent consisting of silver and organic acid anion-containing aluminum sulfate hydroxide particles, excellent in antibacterial property, dispersibility, transparency, white-coloring property and antibacterial power-maintaining characteristics under an environment in contact with tap water, also a method for producing the same and further, an antifungal agent, an antibacterial deodorant, antibacterial paper, an agrochemical and a cosmetic.

SOLUTION: This antibacterial agent consists of the particles of silver and the organic acid anion-containing aluminum sulfate hydroxide expressed by formula (1): (AgaBb-a)bAlcAx(SO4)y(OH)zpH2O. The antifungal agent, antibacterial deodorant, antibacterial paper, agrochemical and cosmetic containing the compound particles are provided. The antibacterial resin composition blended with the antibacterial composition is provided. The antibacterial resin article formed from the resin composition is also provided.
