PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fertilizer for wetland rice and a method for wetland rice culture, which can decrease protein value or amylose level in rice grain.SOLUTION: The fertilizer for wetland rice contains phosphorous acid magnesium salt. The fertilizer can decrease protein value or amylose level. Then, as the result, the taste of rice grain is improved. The fertilizer can make the fruit grow bigger and has an effect of increasing the amount of rice crop. One example of the fertilizer is an aqueous solution of phosphorous acid magnesium salt. In this case, the concentration of phosphorous acid magnesium salt can be set to 0.1 to 100 g/L. In the method for wetland rice culture, the described fertilizer for wetland rice is sprayed over leaf surfaces of wetland rice.
