PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle body equipped with a knob part to be surely gripped both during high-speed winding and during high-load winding and a fishing reel.SOLUTION: A first curved surface 55 being a curved surface in parallel with the direction of a second shaft line T2 is formed on the outer peripheral surface at the opposite side of an arm part 35 in the direction of a knob shaft line S of a knob body part 51. Preferably the first curved surface 55 is arranged at least in a range from a middle position between the knob shaft line S and an end part of a small size side to a middle position between the knob shaft line S and an end part of a large size side concerning the direction of a first shaft line T1.
