To provide forceps which credibly hold a holding object though its total length is long.
SOLUTION: The forceps have a first arm and a second arm which are connected via a pivot and swing freely around the pivot. Each of the first arm and the second arm has a pressure seat section extending in one direction from the pivot and a finger ring part ON the rear end of a handle section extending in the other direction from the pivot for opening and closing the pressure seat section. The handle section has a twisting preventing means for preventing the first arm and the second arm from twisting in the axial direction of the pivot.
