A tracked self-propelled harvesting machine (10) is provided with a suspension system in which a final drive unit is mounted to a chassis in a manner that allows pivotal movement of the final drive around an input shaft (28). An output shaft is connected to an attachment hub (24) for mounting ground engaging means such as a track unit (16). A damper (40) connected between the chassis and the final drive damps the pivoting movement of the final drive.
