PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin, with which a bad odor arising from a polyoxyalkylene alkyl glucoside is inhibited, which is free from stickiness, and which brings about a high moisture retention effect.SOLUTION: The polyoxyalkylene alkyl glucoside-containing external preparation for skin contains a water-soluble polyhydric alcohol in an amount of 5 to 30 times by weight of polyoxyalkylene alkyl glucoside and mucopolysaccharides in an amount of 0.075 to 2 times by weight thereof.
