<;P>;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide white radish sprouts increased in pungent taste. <;P>;SOLUTION: A pungent taste increasing agent for white radish sprouts has xylitol as the active ingredient, is used for cultivating white radish sprouts, and increases the quantity of pungent components to be produced in the living body of white radish sprouts. The white radish sprouts increased in pungent taste are also provided. A method for cultivating the white radish sprouts which are harvested by cultivation and increased in pungent taste comprises sowing sprouted seeds of white radish sprouts, and adding an aqueous xylitol solution to cultivation water and diluent liquid manure followed by cultivating and greening.
