PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of reducing attenuation of MR signals output from an RF coil.SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes: a magnetostatic-field magnet, a gradient magnetic field coil, a high-frequency coil, a frame, a receiving substrate and a signal processing system. The magnetostatic-field magnet forms a magnetostatic field in an imaging area. The gradient magnetic field coil forms a gradient magnetic field in the imaging area. The high-frequency coil receives magnetic resonance signals generated from a subject in the imaging area where the magnetostatic field and the gradient magnet field are formed. The frame has a cylindrical casing where the gradient magnetic field coil and the magnetostatic field magnet are stored. The receiving substrate includes an A/D converter stored in the casing and A/D-converting the magnetic resonance signals received by the high-frequency coil without conversion of frequency. The signal processing system generates magnetic resonance image data on the basis of the magnetic resonance signals after the A/D conversion.
