The invention relates to a class of 5-carboxamide-2-thiobarbituric acid derivatives which inhibits human type II topoisomerase (topoII) enzyme and to use thereof as medicaments especially for blocking the proliferation of cancer cells and treating cancer. The invention also provides a method for the manufacture of the 5-carboxamide-2-thiobarbituric acid derivatives.L'invention concerne une classe de dérivés d'acide 5-carboxamide-2-thiobarbiturique qui inhibent l'enzyme de la topoisomérase de type II humaine (topoII) et leur utilisation en tant que médicaments notamment pour bloquer la prolifération de cellules cancéreuses et pour traiter le cancer. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication des dérivés d'acide 5-carboxamide-2-thiobarbiturique.
