PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for appropriately manufacturing an absorbent article capable of detecting discharge even when the amount of the discharge is small.SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing an absorbent article that absorbs discharge, a pair of conductive members for a test and an insulative coating material for a test covering the conductive members for a test are prepared, a test is performed such that energization degree between the conductive members for a test is measured while changing kinetic viscosity and metsuke amount of the insulative coating material for a test with a prescribed load being imposed onto the pair of conductive members for a test by the insulative coating material for a test, and a pair of conductive members covered by the insulative coating material is manufactured by covering the insulative coating material having the kinetic viscosity determined based on test results onto the conductive member with a determined metsuke amount based on test results.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
