PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety of and to facilitate operation of a treatment tool by grasping rotation status of the treatment tool at a glance.
SOLUTION: An endoscope insertion section 2 with an endoscope lens 6 and a flexible transmission section 1 with a treatment tool section 4 are inserted within an insertion means 3 of a medical endoscope system. An operating end 1 for operating the treatment tool section 4 is arranged on the other end of the flexible transmission section 1. A marker 5 having a pattern such as continuing triangles is formed on the treatment tool side of the flexible transmission section 1 for 360 degrees in the circumference. An endoscope 2 reads a marker image along with an image of the treatment tool section 4. An image processing device 8 then processes the marker image to acquire a rotation angle from a reference position and displays an arrow in accordance with the rotation angle on the treatment tool image. With such a configuration, operation of the treatment tool is facilitated because the operating direction of the treatment tool is recognized at a glance even when a twist is generated on the flexible transmission section 1 of the treatment tool section 4.
