A tillage implement has a gang of rotary spider tines, each spider tinehaving a center portion and a plurality of teeth forming a peripheral edge ofthespider tine. Each tooth is rearwardly curving from the intended direction ofrotation and has a curved leading edge and a curved trailing edge that tapertoa rounded outward tip. A distal end of each tooth is angled relative to atoothbase to form a flared paddle such that the flared paddle is angled withrespectto the tooth base and center portion of the spider tine. A first set of teethhaveflared paddles angled in a first direction and a second set have flaredpaddlesangled in a direction opposite said first direction, with the first set beingalternately positioned with the second set in a circumferential pattern aroundthe peripheral edge of the spider tine.
