To obtain a fryer basket that facilitates separation of fried food from the inner surface of the basket.
SOLUTION: The fryer has a large number of baskets 3 for retaining food which are endlessly connected to form a conveyer and fries the food by making this conveyer pass through an oil tank filled with hot oil. In this fryer and each of the baskets 3 has a container shape with the top part open and has a peripheral wall 33 and a bottom 35 provided with a number of holes 34. The peripheral wall 33 is tapered with the upper part flared by making a diameter larger in the top open part than in the lower part continuous with the bottom 35. Also and in the inner surface of the peripheral wall 33, a number of continuous grooves 331 are formed in the circumferential direction and wherein the width of the grooves 331 is formed larger in the upward position closer to the top open part than in the lower position near the bottom.
