PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter capable of preventing reduction in the insertion property of a guide wire.SOLUTION: A balloon catheter includes: an inner tube 16 and a balloon 13 provided so as to cover the distal end side of the inner tube 16. The balloon 13 has a distal leg region 13e joined to the inner tube 16 at its distal end. The inner tube 16 includes a base tube 25 and a tip tube 26 provided to be joined to the base tube 25 on the distal side to the base tube 25, the tip tube being lower in rigidity than the base tube 25. A joint part 35 where the base tube 25 is joined to the tip tube 26 is located proximally to the distal leg region 13e in the axial direction.
