A dermatological cream intended for topical treatment of bacterial infections of the skin and for healing related wounds, wherein said cream containing silver sulfadiazine and a biopolymer included in the cream base, wherein said cream base contains at least one substance from each of the following groups: preservative, primary and secondary emulsifier, waxy product, co-solvent, acid and water, preferably purified water, and said biopolymer is preferably chitosan. 2. A dermatological cream according to claim 1, wherein said cream further comprises any substance from the group comprising a buffering agent, an antioxidant, a chelating agent, a hygroscopic agent, a stabilizer, or any combination thereof. The dermatological cream of claim 1, wherein: said silver sulfadiazine is added in an amount of from about 0.5% by weight to about 15% by weight, preferably from 0.5% to 5% by weight, and more preferably approximately 1.0% by weight； and - said biopolymer is in the form of chitosan added in an amount of from about 0.01% to about 1% by weight, preferably from about 0.01% to about 0.5% by weight, and in the most preferred embodiment, about 0 25% by weight.
