PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet protection composition which has sufficient sunscreen effect and furthermore is not sticky, has excellent usability and can prevent secondary pollution caused by microorganisms.SOLUTION: There is provided the ultraviolet protection composition which contains the following components (A) to (C): (A) 5 to 20 mass% of an organic ultraviolet absorber, (B) 1 to 3 mass% of p-menthane-3,8-diol and (C) 6 to 15 mass% of a dihydric alcohol having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, and in which the sum of the content of the component (B) and the component (C) is 8 to 16 mass%, the content ratio (component (C)/component (B)) of the component (C) to the component (B) is 3 to 11, and the ultraviolet protection composition preferably is a water -in-oil emulsion type.SELECTED DRAWING: None【課題】充分な日焼け止め効果を有しつつ、べたつかず、使用感に優れ、かつ、微生物による二次汚染が防止できる紫外線防御組成物の提供。【解決手段】次の成分（Ａ）～（Ｃ）を含有する紫外線防御組成物。（Ａ）有機紫外線吸収剤５～２０質量％、（Ｂ）ｐ－メンタン－３，８－ジオール１～３質量％、（Ｃ）炭素数３～６の２価アルコール６～１５質量％。前記成分（Ｂ）と前記成分（Ｃ）の含有量の和が８～１６質量％、かつ、前記成分（Ｂ）に対する前記成分（Ｃ）の含有量比（成分（Ｃ）／成分（Ｂ））が３～１１であり、油中水乳化型であることが好ましい紫外線防御組成物。【選択図】なし
