A trellis comprises a generally elongated main body formed from a mesh, grill or apertured sheet material. The trellis incorporates at least one spacer flange17positioned on the underside of the trellis for the purpose of creating a gap, wedge or bump stop between the main body and the surface of an object (such as fence, wall or post) to which the trellis is to be attached. The spacer17may have an aperture, hole or cut-out area within its interior to allow plants to pass through the spacer. The trellis may incorporate at least one leg20that may have a hole or aperture16for receiving a fastening device15such as a screw or nail. The leg20may have a foot and the hole may be positioned in the foot, the foot may be bent inwards towards the underside of the main body. The leg may be adjustable to increase or decrease distance between the body and the surface of the object to allow plants to grow up both sides of the main body. The leg may also be pivotable.
