The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising an extract of Nypa fruticans wurmb as an active ingredient. The cosmetic composition according to the present invention has an effect of inhibiting or alleviating damage accompanied with erythema on the skin due to stress stimulation such as ultraviolet rays. Also, the cosmetic composition not only inhibits the decomposition and reduction of collagen in the skin but also suppresses an increase in the thickness of skin epithelium due to ultraviolet rays, thereby suppressing or alleviating the aging of the skin. Thus, the extract of Nypa fruticans wurmb of the present invention is expected to be used for drugs, quasi-drugs, cosmetics, cosmetic materials, functional biomaterials, and functional food materials.본 발명은 해죽순 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 화장료 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 화장료 조성물은 자외선 등 스트레스 자극으로 인한 피부상의 홍반을 동반한 손상을 억제 또는 개선하는 효과가 있고, 피부 내 콜라겐의 분해 및 감소를 억제할 뿐만 아니라, 자외선에 의한 피부 상피조직의 두께 증가를 억제함으로써, 피부노화를 억제 또는 개선의 효과를 나타낸다. 이에 본 발명의 해죽순 추출물은 의약용, 의약부외용, 화장료용, 향장소재용, 기능성 바이오 소재용 및 기능성 식품소재용 등으로의 이용이 기대된다.
