A method for manufacturing a medical introducer includes placing an introducer sheath 104 on a mandrel 101 and overmolding an introducer hub 112 on the proximal end of the introducer sheath. The introducer sheath has one or more score lines 110a, 110b formed on the inner surface, and the mandrel has each of the surface protrusions when the introducer sheath is positioned on the mandrel. It has a number of surface protrusions 102a, 102b to contact one of the score lines formed on the introducer sheath.
