PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load of a user by a weight of a walking assist unit and a load of a user when starting to step out a leg part around which the walking assist unit is worn.SOLUTION: The walking training device includes: a walking assist unit worn around a leg part of a user for assisting a walking operation of the user a tensile part 33 for pulling the leg part upward and forward a control part 351 for causing the tensile part 33 to generate a first tensile force for reducing the weight of the walking assist unit a sensor 25 for detecting a loading amount of the leg part from the sole a grounding determination part 361 that, when a total sole loading amount exceeds a determination threshold, determines that the leg part is grounded a load center calculation part 362 for calculating a load center position in the sole and a load shift detection part 363 for detecting a load shift that the load center position shifts from the heel to tiptoes.
